FROM THE AUTHOR
The third volume of the trilogy, titled “The Mystery of Golgotha,” continues the narrative established in the previous books, “The Christmas Chronicle” and “The Road to the Jordan.” This two-volume monograph covers the period from 42 BC to 14 AD and 14 AD to 30 AD, respectively. The third volume completes the trilogy, focusing on the most significant and unique time and events in human (meta)history. In this final part, which was written between 2012 and 2016, the author delves into the extraordinary period from the 40-day Temptations following Christ’s baptism in the Jordan on January 6th, 30 AD (concluding “The Road to the Jordan”), until the mysteries of the Crucifixion, Resurrection, and the pre-Ascension period in the spring of 33 AD (concluding the accounts of the Four Gospels).
Despite covering a relatively short interval of three years and a few months, this third volume surpasses the previous two in terms of its volume. It primarily focuses on the history sacra, which is reconstructed in strict chronological order based on the Gospels. The author follows a three-book structure in “The Mystery of Golgotha” to maintain a clear (meta)chronological narrative, acting as the guiding thread through the labyrinth of historical texts.
However, alongside the history sacra, the book also presents history profana of Rome during the years 30, 31, and 32 AD. The author pays special attention to this parallel historical context, highlighting its significance to the reader’s understanding.
