Konstantin Zakharyan, born on March 21, 1961, is a scholar and researcher with a focus on Armenian history. He grew up in Tbilisi and completed his high school education there in 1978. He then enrolled in the Faculty of Philology of the Russian Language and Literature at Yerevan State University, graduating in 1986. After graduation, Zakharyan returned to Tbilisi briefly before moving to Yerevan with his family in 1987.
In 1988, Zakharyan began his exploration of the history of the Armenian Question, specifically the history of Armenia and Armenians in the 19th and 20th centuries. He published articles on this topic in Literary Armenia magazine and other periodicals. In 1992/1993, he wrote a retrospective work titled “The Genesis of the Catastrophe” (The Formation of the Armenian Question in 1828-78), which was published twice in Yerevan, first in 2006 and then in 2008.
From 1993 to 2006, Zakharyan resided in Germany, during which time he shifted his research focus as an independent researcher into world history, the origins of Christianity, and the ancient world, dedicating 25 years to these subjects.
The author, Konstantin Zakharyan, has published several monographs on the subject, which are as follows:
- “Chronicles of Nativity” – This book covers a span of 55 years of annalistic history from 42 BC to 14 AD. It explores the code of Christian chronology and delves into the dualistic Sacrament of the Nativity of Christ. The book was written between 1998 and 2006 and was published in 2007.
- “The Road to the Jordan” – Focusing on the period from 14 to 30 AD, this book explores the events that occurred after the Mystery and examines the 12-year-old Jesus in the temple leading up to the Baptism of Jesus of Nazareth. It was written between 2007 and 2012 and published in 2012.
- “The Mystery of Golgotha” – Comprising two volumes, this book covers the time period from 30 to 33 AD. It investigates the period after the Baptism of Jesus up until the Resurrection of Christ. The writing process for this work spanned 16 years and it was published in 2016.
- “Apostles and Caesars” – Also consisting of two volumes, this book delves into the years from 33 to 67/68 AD. It starts with the Ascension of the Lord and the first Christian Pentecost Trinity in the spring of 33 AD and continues until the martyrdom of Peter and Paul in 67 AD and the end of Nero’s reign in 68 AD. The writing process for this work took place between 2016 and 2021, and it was published in 2022.
Currently, the author is working on a new book called “Caesars and Apostles,” which serves as a chronological continuation of his previous monographs. This forthcoming book will cover the period from 68 to 100 AD, encompassing events such as the Roman Troubles of 69, the Flavian principate (69-96), the beginning of the Antonin principate (from 96), the Ioannova Revelation in 96 AD, and the Assumption of John the Evangelist in 100 AD.
